Papertrey Blog Hop

Today is the 25th so that means it's the day of the monthly Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  I haven't been able to participate for quite some time, but this month's inspiration photo is so pretty and calming I gave it a go.

Inspiration

I think it's the colors that have a calming effect on me.  So pretty!  I paired it with the sketch portion of  the challenge at Fusion since I needed a little more focus.

Combined I made this pretty little card.

The bottom is white cardstock with ink stippled onto it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies
Stamps: PTI (Sentiment)
Dies: Sizzix (leaves)
Paper: PTI (Ripe Avocado, White,  Spring Moss, Sweet Blush patterns, Spring Moss patterns)
Other: Ranger Ink, Butterfly punch large (Martha Stewart), Butterfly punch small (Creative Memories), Stipple Brush

Happy Day!

Today I am sharing a card based on two challenges - the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

and the color palette at Just Us Girls.

The two came together beautifully.  It only occurred to me to bring them together because it turns out the only teal I could find in my art room was in the form of washi tape.

I started out with the washi lined up nice and neat, but it just wasn't right so I went back and added a little wonk to it.

Enjoy!

Make it Wednesday with PTI

Hello again!  After the fabulous anniversary festivities Papertrey put a Make it Monday up, but on Wednesday.  The challenge - to customize pattern paper - easy, peasy!

I pulled out some paper and tried a few things before I settled on using Lunchbox Love to make my card.

There are two layers of the notebook die.  Here is the one underneath.

A cute little card for when one of the littles need a little "pick me up."

Thanks for stopping by.  Let me know what you think.

Fortune Teller

I now bring you the last of the Papertrey Ink challenges.  This one was a color challenge with a twist.  It uses the old Fortune Tellers anyone my age knew well as a child.  It was easy enough to make and count.  I ended up with Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, and Royal Velvet as my color combo.  Very pretty.  As it was getting late I went with bookmarks for this one.  We always need more bookmarks in this house.  I broke out Lunchbox Love to whip up a couple for my  little one who is learning to read.

Again, bad photography from the last minute hustle.  These are super sweet and I think just what little people need when they start out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday Snail Mail

Now it's time to thank the warehouse staff at Papertrey Ink.  I can't imagine if they dread release time or not, but I'm know they're busy and am guessing they get a bit tired.  This challenge was really easy, make a thank you card for the warehouse staff.  Now, you can post with hashtags and on social media, but I don't do much of that.  Papertrey is also starting a campaign of sorts "Saturday Snail Mail" to mail a card to someone every Saturday.  Seeing as how I love happy mail and am working hard to get my kiddos to understand actual mail and letters I love this idea!

Here is my thank you note:

Sorry the picture seems so dark.  I was in a hurry with the looming deadline!  This is done with Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist.

Thanks for stopping by,
Amanda

Papercrafting Alphabet

This is the last anniversary challenge for Papertrey Ink's ninth anniversary celebration.  I have some catching up to do so it's not my last entry, but the last challenge issued is the Papercrafting Alphabet.

Paper-Crafting-Alphabet-web
Since we are suppose to use the letters in our name I have A, D, H, M, N, and T.  Finding a type of card was the hard part, once I had a direction I was able to come up with this.

I started off with the two stamp sets which turned into three and a map.  If you look close the light blue has a world map stamped in Versamark Ink for just a hint of a background.  I pulled the truck form City Station and the road from Walk in the Park (both of which were still in their packaging as I had not gotten around to using them yet) then added a sentiment from Get Lost.  I embossed the sentiment in gold and put the whole thing on the luggage tag die which is then tied off with Air Mail Twine.  Before assembling I trimmed the card down a bit and rounded the corners.  I added a border a the bottom with washi tape and finally used a gel pen with a touch of glitter to highlight the stitching marks on the tag.

I hope you liked my card for this challenge.  Please, let me know what you think.

Sampler Square

Another Papertrey Ink anniversary challenge.  I really hope the mojo stays with me once the anniversary festivities are over!  This one is the Sampler Square Challenge - cut nine squares and do something different on each one then make a card.  I took a slightly different approach with the same intent.  I cut nine large squares and used a different background technique on each one.  Then I cut each one into nine squares.  I intended to make nine cards, but my back was not cooperating so I only got to three, but I have the other squares to work on when I find some time.  Here is the first card.

The nine techniques I used were ink blowing, glitter strips, distress paper, splatters, speared ink, stamps and color, dry embossing rubbed with ink, alcohol ink plaid, and emboss resist.   I then made this card.

By this time I was getting tired of brown so I changed up my color choices to make this card.

This one is my favorite.  So much brighter and happier.  I am excited about the possibilities for the other six cards.

Thanks for looking!

Grab and Craft

Papertrey Ink's anniversary celebration continues, though it's coming to an end soon.  I was able to get a few more projects done for the challenges.  First up is the Grab and Craft challenge.  I had to get some thank you cards done this weekend.  I didn't really want to work on them, but the time had come and I couldn't put it off any longer.  So in response to this challenge I gathered up all the construction type stuff I could find and called my kiddo in to make the selections.  This turned out to be not such a great idea since the selections kept coming.  When it was finally over I gave my self one minute to grab paper and ink and went to work to come up with this.

It came out really cute.  However, the rules clearly stated you had to use everything that was grabbed.  Since I was pleased with the front I turned my attention to the inside to make the rest work.

It still leaves plenty of room for us to write his message and uses up the remaining selections.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fashion Inspiration

Moving right along with Papertrey Ink's anniversary celebrations we have challenge 2, to find an article of clothing in our closet or at an online retailer to find inspiration.  This, quite frankly, is hard for me.  I do not find clothes very inspirational in that way.  It's just not me, but I went to Mod Cloth and looked around a bit.  I found two dresses that are super cute, not that I could wear them, but I can try to make a pretty card.   The first dress is super cute and has me tempted to order it.

Moxie Posse Dress - Blue, Floral, Print, Embroidery, Belted, Party, A-line, Sleeveless, Woven, Better, Mid-length

And here is the card I made.

The second dress is so fun!

Here's the card they came from it.  This card was designed based on this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!  As soon as I turned my attention to this dress the sketch came to mind.  The stripes are all heat embossed and don't line up exactly, by design (wink!).

Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary!

Today I am finally back to my blog and, really, I have Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary to thank for that.  The challenges came at a perfect time and each one has spoken to me.  And thankfully, we have until the 15th to get 'em done.  The first challenge is a color challenge and while looking at the choices I just could not decide. Hopping over to the JUGS challenge for the week - Valentines reminded me I hadn't been getting much in the mailboxes for the family this year.

We each have a decorated Dollar Spot mailbox for the Valentine season to send love notes and such, but we've had so much going on they were feeling a little neglected.  However, the Valentine challenge was just what I needed to get myself going.  And with all those fabulous color combinations I decided to get to work on some little boxes.  With four to make I chose four different colors combinations:

Erin's-colors

Lexi's-colors

Lizzie's-colors

Ashley's-colors

And then I pulled out my All Through the House Set from Papertrey to finally utilize that adorable box!  Here there are:

Once they were done I filled them up with dark chocolate valentine M&Ms.

I look forward to getting back here more often.  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!
