Happy Rainbow Birthday

Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for the Card Concept photo challenge this week.  The photo is beautiful.

I love the rainbows and the black background.  I chose to apply the rainbow to balloons instead of cupcakes.

Though this bella didn't forget the cupcake!  This is a clean and layered card.  I added a few sequins for a more festive look.

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Sail Away

This week's JUGS challenge was a photo challenge all about sailing, at least in my mind.

I am not much for being on the water, but I have "sailed" across the Atlantic Ocean so I am not completely opposed to life on the water.  And right about now, with the temps being what there are in our neck of the woods, I would love to sail away with nearly anyone.  This image immediately had me thinking "sail away with me" so that is what I went with.

I used a soft alcohol ink background that was lying around the art room and added a beautiful sailboat stamped in a similar gray.

Enjoy your day!

Thank You Santa!

This week's challenge at the Jingle Belles blog was to thank Santa...OK, use something Santa brought.  I am a little sad to admit this, but I used a stamp Santa brought me in 2017 that I had never used.  It's super cute, but I have a habit of forgetting things I don't buy.

Here is my card:

This adorable little reindeer can finally be jolly!  So sad he wasn't inked up before now!

Silent Night

This year I am going to make sure I get more than enough Christmas cards done before December.  My kids keep deciding to give cards to more and more people so my stash this past December was woefully short when they were done.  As such I am using inpiration from a couple of holiday specific challenges.  Today I am sharing a card created for the Silent Night challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  For me Silent Night is all about the star and the hope for peace.

This is on a handmade alcohol ink background with purple and gold.

Thanks for stopping by,

A Spring Thank You

Today I am bringing you a card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) and the Just Stamping challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  They came together beautifully and brought a little spring to my day, which was really needed as we live in the part of the country that is freezing right now.  Not sure there is a part that isn't at the moment so maybe everyone can understand.  Here is the sketch:

And here are some lovely tulips!

Stay warm and think springtime thoughts,

Breakin' Out the Hearts

This weekend I finally got around to looking forward to Valentine's Day.  I was inspired to do so by the sketch on the Less is More challenge blog.

As soon as I saw it I thought of a Valentine's project I did in school way back in the day.  We made a mouse out of hearts.  My mind would not look at these triangle as anything other than hearts after that.

I drew hearts the size I needed and hand cut them from patterned paper then added a sentiment.

I will also be linking this up to the Hearts on Fire Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

I hope you like it and are breaking out your own hearts and valentines.

A Pink Future

Today I am sharing a card for the Pink Party Challenge at The Card Concept.  Here is the inspiration photo full of pink...

Of course, the card had to have pink, of course, but if look close you will notice a fortune cookie on the plate.  That is what spoke to me and brought about this card.

Make a wish with a genie.  I think this card is mostly Clean and Simple with a hint of Graphic.

I hope you have a very lucky day!

REwrap

Today I am sharing a card for the More Time Like the Presents challenge at Jingle Belles.  The challenge was to take a piece of the left over bits of wrapping paper from Christmas to make a Christmas card for next year.  Well, since I ran about 13 cards short this year I have decided to put forth more of an effort to be better prepared and there was a pile of wrapping paper scraps I had saved for the kids to do whatever it is they do with them...wrap presents for their babies and stuffed animals mostly.  That pile had some cute paper with gingerbread people on it so that was it.  This card was born...

The two gingerbread people were cut from the wrapping paper.  The candies are stamped along with the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by for a smile.

Winter Blues

This week there were two challenges that I was sure I was not inspired by until I put them together.  The Winter Blues challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the Frozen challenge at Caseology.  I think this might be the first time I actually got a card done in time to participate at Caseology though I've been admiring their challenges for years.

I made this simple card for a birthday I nearly forgot...I am not on my game this year, but trying to get back on track.

The background is navy blue and the snowman is die cut from the paper that is covered with white that can be sanded off.  This particular piece has a pretty blue underneath.  I do not remember the name of these papers, but they come (came) in black and white.

I hope you enjoyed my version of Happy Winter Blues.
